I don't know why, as I grow older, I start to find that Chinese New Year (CNY) is getting more boring and the atmosphere is not that energetic as that I felt when I was a kid. Perhaps, I am no longer active and energetic like a child.
Back in the days when I was still a wee kid in Sabak Bernam, when CNY approached, I was so happy and excited. There were so many things I could do. I could visit my friend's house and get ang pao from his/her parent; I could meet my cousins in Sg. Besar and played with them. etc. Now, being a mature teenager doesn't allow me to do these activities any longer. The best thing I can do is just to gather with my friends and have tea together, that's all.
Besides, my friends and relatives have grown older, they are also not as active as before. They also have their own activities especially dating. This might be the factor that makes the atmosphere of CNY get dull...
Life is a learning process. Any encounters along the path make ponder the meaning of life – hopefully make me a happy soul who lives my life to the fullest.
